HSC Meeting Minutes 9.11.24

In Attendance: Sarah, Carrie, Dan, Joe, Christopher, Debbie, Lisa, Kendra

PRINCIPLE UPDATE: 

Bond money update:

• Field/blacktop/Room 1 & 2

• Culinary wing

• Gym to come later. Debbie to check when this will happen. 

Need a new President/VP for HSC. Reach out to Community Coordinators from our Elementary schools. President could help with coordinating volunteers rather than do the work themselves. Talk to 6th grade teachers to find out which parents are stepping up to see if any would be interested. Bridge with ELAC - don’t have meetings at same time. Try scheduling meetings one after the other and offer childcare and food. 

TREASURER REPORT:

Smooth transition from Katie to Dan. Lots of items to take care of:

• Zoom, PayPal, Email, Donation apps

• Bank accounts, taxes, non-profit paperwork

• Purchased math binders, wrote checks to teachers

Nervous about not having a President for HSC. Dan will run Spring Fest. Really need someone that can step up into President. 

Healthy bank account, accounts are reconciled. 

Need to coordinate on B40 athletic sweatshirts. 

FUNDING REQUEST: New “temporary” scoreboard needed. 

Chris moves to approve $1000, Joe 2nds. All approved. 

• Chris to follow-up on potential access to district funds for this (as “concerned parent”)

• Get quote for fixing/replacing

• Debbie to look back at previous meeting notes to find out what was decided & look at what was already sourced.

FUNDING REQUEST: Joe - $150 for “connectedness” prizes. Approved. 

Kendra to ask Grocery Outlet if they would donate food and/or gift card

New Business:

Drive for Schools is starting! Tickets sold in the office. Let’s recruit some parents to sell them before/after school. Sell thru sports and clubs. BTV spot. Give the kids an incentive (prize) for top sellers. Visual representation of progress towards goal.  Prizes for top sellers. AirPods (donation from Kendra), PE t-shirts, front of the line pass.
